Acetic Acid prices in India witnessed a sudden rise yesterday, on September 22, after seeing a gradual increase throughout the month. According to the ChemAnalyst database , the current price for Acetic Acid registered a growth of 31% from its price in the last week and 42% from its price in the third week of September last year. Recently, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Chemicals Ltd., India’s solitary Acetic Acid producer having an installed capacity of 100 KTPA, has also raised the domestic prices of Acetic Acid. India imports a large number of Acetic Acids from Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Taiwan among other exporting countries while a small part of the production is sent for exports. The Acetic Acid prices triggered off in the backdrop of the acute global crunch of the shipping containers at ports.
